Considerations for Using Silicone in Temporary Prostheses

• Silicone should be washed daily with cold water only,
• As the socket becomes more abundant, a few more socks can be worn on the silicone (Up to 5 times),
• The bandage should be worn continuously as the prosthesis is removed,
• The stump should not itch and should be washed daily with cold water,
• You should not sit too long with the knee bend in the prosthesis, and the knee should not remain bend while you sit,
• The leg should be extended straight, rested above the  heart level,
• The prosthesis should not be worn for more than 2-3 hours.
