Unity™ Unity ™ Vacuum System provides advanced vacuum suspension, an unprecedented improvement that allows users to easily accept the product without using a knee brace. Moreover, the vacuum pump works independently of the Flex-Foot® foot module, allowing the foot to move optimally for maximum efficiency. Since knee braces are not used, there is no limitation in the range of motion of the knee joint and the vacuum system can be released quickly and easily with a single button. Unity helps to balance the volume while providing a highly effective and knee-free vacuum suspension by applying the vacuum to the area needed – the distal circumference of the limb. 

This advanced distal vacuum system minimizes the risks of proximal vacuum leakage and puncture, the unresolved problem of traditional above knee vacuum methods. SEAL-IN® ADVANTAGE: The Unity vacuum system is based on the proven technology of icecross Seal’s V silicone liner. The soft distal tip for firm grip and comfort is located under an airtight seal. This gasket distributes the pressure evenly, ensuring full compliance with the stump and preventing unpleasant pressure rises. Thanks to the patented wave design on the gasket, the knee joint can move freely. And Össur’s special silicone blends offer superior comfort and protection for your sensitive skin.

They demanded a system that could cope with volume fluctuations and was compatible with FlexFoot® technology. “That’s why we’ve begun to explore how we can further develop Iceross Seal-In® V, an already highly effective suspension liner. The integrated seal ensures a natural limit for the distal vacuum, and this vacuum system is located in the area where soft tissues are most unstable. “We didn’t want to compromise the function of our Flex-Foot shock units, so we developed a pump that would run independently, requiring minimal load for a powerful vacuum process. With Unity, the pump is operated using energy supplied from the heel of the foot. “The weight of the entire system is only 130g. When the sockets fit better and the Flex-Foot dynamics come together, a very light and fast response product has emerged, this product has been developed with user tests and feedback. ”
